Staff Structure

The Foundation employs staff from a variety of occupational groups. Its libraries, museums, archives, research institutes and administration department are the workplace not only of scholars , librarians and archivists but also of conservation professionals, tradesmen, stockroom supervisors, administrative employees, bookbinders and plaster casters. The Foundation employs approx. 2000 employees (1200 female, 800 male). 25% are civil servants, 75% do not have civil servant status. The terms of employment are determined by the same legal stipulations and rulings and collective wage agreements that apply for central government employees.
