Budget Figures

On 9th December 2011, the Foundation Council adopted the budget of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation for the 2012 fiscal year (subject to the outcome of the consultations on the Berlin State budget). This budget provides for a total expenditure amounting to 251.306.000 Euro. Of these (including the Foundation's own income as well as third-party funding), 160.440.000 Euro are to be appropriated as operating funds (operational budget). As in previous years, the Foundation's providing bodies allocate fixed amounts: i.e. the Federation 104.400.000 Euro, and the Länder (federal States) 34.800.000 Euro. Since the Federal Government and the State of Berlin increased their subsidies by a total of 840.000 Euro, the operational budget of the Foundation rose accordingly as opposed to the previous year. In addition, the Federal Government grants special funds for the contemporary art museum Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart in the amount of 938,000 Euro (as in the previous years). In addition to the funds allocated for personnel and material expenses under the operational budget, the Federal Government provides 90.866.000 Euro for the Foundation's construction investments, an amount that has been reduced by about 4 million Euro as compared to last year's budget.
