Privacy policy for the processing of personal data in video-monitored areas

The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK) uses video surveillance at its museums and other properties. In the following, we would like to inform you about the processing of personal data in this context.

C. Video-monitored areas in detail

Video surveillance takes place at the following areas:

Museum Island

The video surveillance system installed on Museum Island monitors:
- the facades of the buildings
- all access areas to our properties
- the collonade courtyard and its entire movement zones
- various canopies
- the granite shell in front of the Altes Museum
- roof areas in the buildings
- parts of the cash desk areas
- the visitor entrances
- the interior areas at the escape route doors leading outdoors
- individual works of art in the exhibition if required and requested by lenders

Areas not required for video surveillance of the properties and their immediate surroundings are made unrecognizable by pixelation (privacy zones). In particular, private areas of other buildings.

D. Purpose of data processing

The data processing is carried out for the following purposes:
- Exercise of domiciliary rights
- Prevention and investigation of criminal offences (in particular theft, robberies, fraud, damage, vandalism)

E. Legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e DSGVO in conjunction with § 3 para.1 StiftG.

F. Storage location and storage duration

The data is stored for up to 72 hours. Longer storage only takes place if this is necessary for the enforcement of legal claims or the prosecution of criminal offenses in a specific individual case.

G. Categories of recipients

Data is only transferred to third parties (e.g. police) if this is necessary for the investigation of criminal offences.

H. Rights of the data subjects

Under the conditions of Art. 15-18, Art. 20 DSGVO, you have the right to information, to the correction or deletion of your personal data and to the restriction of processing as well as to data portability.

They also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of their personal data (Art. 77 DSGVO).

The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) is responsible for the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
